4 Point Guide to Life

Maybe you have heard the statement that Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky made, concerning a trillion dollars. “If you started the day Jesus Christ was born, and spent $1 million every day since then, you still wouldn't have spent $1 trillion.” (By the way that number would have ended up being about 750 billion.)

I like what was written on Hot Air as a response to those who don’t believe. “I know the three atheists who read this site are wondering, so I’ll spare them the trouble of calculating: it’s roughly $13.7M a day since Darwin.” (In case you’re interested, Darwin was born February 12, 1809.)

Now here’s the deal. Not to be too negative, but I doubt our country has the ability to ever repay this debt. We have been led, whether we know it or not, way too far down a foolish path. Right now, money is the topic on everyone’s mind, but I think, as believers, we must admit that our world view was corrupted long ago, by more than just materialism. We have been seduced by a “fast-paced lifestyle;” we have been intimidated to inherit the competing mindset of an ethical view that is not from Christ. Our tendency is to trust reason to solve our problems, and technology to provide solutions.

Life is swirling out of control in incremental steps, and what I am writing can sound like a precursor to a deluge of defeat. Not so. If you know Christ, now is not the time to give up, just like it is not the time to allow your thinking to be corrupted. I want to fight this good fight right to the end, watching God keep His promises in a world abundant with faithless activity.

I have personally been led by the Holy Spirit to adopt a four-point plan to guide my life, for I am convinced that overwhelming success and triumph await every believer. I am certain that Christ will keep us from drifting, as we keep ourselves firmly planted in Him.

Daily Keep His Word before my Eyes and Ears.
Daily Keep His Worship in my Heart and Mouth.
Daily Keep His Wisdom guiding Every Step and Plan.
Daily Keep His Witness through my Actions and Activities.
