Our Beliefs

The following statements summarize some of the fundamental teachings of this Church. They are not intended to reflect an exhaustive or definitive listing of doctrinal positions, but rather to serve as general guidelines as to our beliefs.

WE BELIEVE

The Word of God to be inspired, inerrant, relevant, and authoritative. 2 Tim. 3:16; 2 Pet. 1:20, 21

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

God’s Word to be inspired and authoritative, we commit ourselves to obey it in faith and to embrace its standards.

WE BELIEVE

God our Creator and Redeemer exists in three Persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Matt. 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

God exists in three Persons; we commit ourselves to receive the Father’s love, to submit to the Son’s authority, and to live in the power that the Holy Spirit imparts to us.

WE BELIEVE

God’s only begotten Son Jesus was born of a virgin. This Jesus was verified as being sent by God through performing healings, deliverances, and miracles, thus revealing to us the Father’s heart. Isa. 7:9, 14; Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

Jesus is fully God, fully Man; we commit ourselves to believe in whom God has made us to be—fully His sons in Christ—and we commit to honor and listen to Jesus as the only mediator between God and man.

WE BELIEVE

God’s Son Jesus died on the cross for our sins; He was buried, He physically rose from the dead and is presently seated at the Father’s right hand. We believe He has been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Rom. 4:25; 1 Cor. 15:1-4

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

Jesus died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again; we commit ourselves to trust in His complete sacrificial work alone to save us from our sin. We recognize His calling upon our lives to daily die to ourselves and to surrender and yield to His loving care and powerful leadership.

WE BELIEVE

God’s Son Jesus poured out His Holy Spirit on all men. We believe He dwells in the believer and is presently working through the church to make visible the invisible work of salvation. Matt. 3:13-16; 28:19; Rom. 6- 8; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 8:13-17; 10:44-46

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

Jesus poured out His Holy Spirit upon us, and His Holy Spirit dwells in our hearts; we commit ourselves to depend upon His Holy Spirit for guidance, teaching, and comfort.

WE BELIEVE

God’s Son Jesus will return a second time to the earth to reap His harvest, test the works of believers, and judge the world. Dan. 7:13, 14; Matt. 25:31-34; John 14:3; Acts 1:9-11; Rev 1:7

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

Jesus is coming again to both reward and recompense, we commit ourselves to the work of harvest by the power of God and to be accountable to Christ for all our words, works, and actions.

WE BELIEVE

God’s Son Jesus is building His church, by the Holy Spirit, into a community that submits to the authority of His Son, lives holy lives, and extends His kingdom on the earth. Matt. 16; Eph. 2:3,4

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

Jesus is building His church and extending the Kingdom; we commit ourselves to the local church, to come into right order, to love authority, to care for the body, to remain united, and to persevere unity in His name.

WE BELIEVE

The necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, into the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. In order to fulfill Christ’s command, we believe in the baptism and continual infilling of the Holy Spirit by Jesus Christ for the purpose of empowering by repentance and through asking. Matt. 3:13-16; 28:19; Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 8:13-17; 10:44-46; Rom 6-8

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

The necessity of water baptism and baptism by the Holy Spirit; we commit ourselves to the work of baptism. We recognize that in baptism we declare that Jesus died for us. We believe we were with Him when He died, and we commit ourselves to put our faith in God for His Holy Spirit to come and dwell in us and fill us as we ask Him.

WE BELIEVE

The Table of the Lord, commonly called the communion or the Lord’s Supper for the believers. 1 Cor. 11:28-32

BECAUSE WE BELIEVE

In the Lord’s Table, we commit ourselves to continually practice partaking of the Lord’s Supper and proclaiming His death until He comes again.
